Fine Artists: Chris Coletti!

The Center for Faculty Excellence is pleased to host Ithaca College Community Artists each Friday at 5pm. In a mere 15-20minutes, learn what our community brings to the Arts, and the invariable ways Art invigorates our lives. Join us this Friday (August 7) for a presentation by Chris Coletti (bio below).

Chris Coletti is an internationally acclaimed trumpet soloist, chamber music and orchestral musician.  Famous for his work with Canadian Brass from 2009-2019, Chris has been Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Ithaca College School of Music since 2018.  

 

Hailed as “… a technical superstar and household name…” by conductor/composer Paul Haas, and “One of the most remarkable double (music) threats… a brilliant trumpeter and imaginative arranger” by  David Srebnik of Sirius XM, Chris has performed and/or recorded with some of the biggest names in music ranging from the Metropolitan Opera and New York Philharmonic to Kanye West and Quincy Jones.

 

With Canadian Brass, Chris has performed 1000+ concerts in many of the finest concert halls in the world, been seen and heard by hundreds of millions of people on countless live TV programs and radio broadcasts, regularly performs with and in front of major symphony orchestras, and has thousands of monthly visitors to his online videosblog, social media accounts and newsletter.

 

Coletti’s discography includes 9 Canadian Brass recordings, most of which feature his original arrangements, and a plethora of other recordings and music videos with world-class artists. Among his numerous accolades, Chris also has perfect pitch, is a professional whistler, and has the unique ability to sing an operatic high C.
