The college is sharing stories about faculty members who are preparing to teach remotely this fall and the innovative approaches they are taking to ensure student success. This series of stories on innovative learning will be shared on the IC News site, as well as on school webpages, the Academics page and the Provost’s page, and on social media.
The story Flexible by Design showcased the work of the Center for Faculty Excellence through the Summer Institute, which more than 250 faculty members attended. Future stories will highlight individual faculty members in each of the five schools and aspects like the use of technology and the role of Student Accessibility Services to help foster inclusive experiential learning opportunities.
We want to show our new and returning students that IC faculty are well-prepared for remote instruction, and that they’re incorporating innovative approaches and technologies to sustain the IC experience in a virtual environment. Beyond the tools, they’re exploring different modes of learning and community-building, as well as adding flexibility to customize the experience for students and meet them where they are.
Please share these stories with your social networks and the students in your department. If you would like to share what you or your colleagues are doing to prepare for the fall semester, please send examples to stories@ithaca.edu.
