Applications for the Student Governance Council’s Vice President of Communications for the 2020-2021 academic year will open Monday, September 21st at 8 AM on Engage.
The incoming Vice President of Communications will be working alongside the recently elected Executive Board, ICPOWER.
As stated in the SGC Constitution, the Vice President of Communications shall:
Be responsible for all public relations and advertising for SGC.
Oversee all campus outreach for SGC.
Preside over the Communications Committee.
Conduct at least one SGC outreach event per semester in collaboration with the Executive Board, as outlined by Article XI.
Be permitted to select an assistant to help fulfill the duties of the position.
Meet at least once per block with the Chief Communications Officer.
In addition, we are looking for someone who has the time to commit to this position. We are looking for someone with the motivation needed to be bold and innovative alongside the rest of the council.
Applications are due by 9/28/2020 at 11:45 PM. The SGC Executive Board will then meet to discuss applicants and put forth their top pick to the SGC Senate. Upon a two-thirds majority vote by the Senate, the candidate will assume the role of Vice President of Communications.
