Please join our Student Financial Services team in extending best wishes to Candy Ross, who is retiring from Ithaca College on September 30th, a date we have feared yet anticipated for some time now. Candy has devoted 31 years to Ithaca College, 30 of which she has dedicated to Financial Aid & Student Financial Services.  With great mentors who enabled her growth in the department, she flourished, eventually ending her career with us as the Interim Director of the SFS department. She has been an integral part of a fantastic team of professionals who dedicate themselves to helping students achieve their dreams of an IC education.

During her time at Ithaca College, Candy was heavily involved in numerous organizations, including but not limited to Staff Council, Tri-Council, Presidents Transition Team, Seed Grant Committee, First Bomber Weekend, Staff & Faculty Cares Committee, IC Bus Trips Committee, and several staff sub-committees.  She has had ample opportunities to serve on search committees that brought excellent colleagues and Senior Leaders to our community. Candy participated in Pop Up Pubs, Talking Circles, Inside Look Program weekend, Veterans Day Celebration honoring IC faculty & staff veterans, 125th Celebration, IC Move-In Crew, IC Welcome Picnic, and more. She thoroughly enjoys opportunities where she can get outside her respective area and make valuable campus connections.

Now that retirement is here, she has big plans. Channeling her inner Joanna Gaines meets Erin Napier, she and her husband are renovating their 6th home, going through the motions of "Love It or List It" with each successful completion. Blessed with a grandson who is 16 months and the joy of her life, she is looking forward to spending time with him at this beautiful stage of discovery.  Despite all her years of devotion to the college, Candy has an extensive travel history in her spare time. COVID resulted in the cancellation of many plans for summer travel in 2020. Still, she is currently planning a trip to California in the next few weeks to visit family, and the bucket list of travel destinations has begun with a dream to drive across the country to Wyoming and visiting National Parks in between.

The Student Financial Services team will sorely miss her presence but look forward to seeing all of the updates on her adventures over the next coming years.

Please join us at 4:00 PM, September 30th, as we celebrate an SFS legacy and a much-deserved retirement of Candy Ross.
