In conjunction with our weekly COVID-19 testing, Ithaca College will be offering the flu vaccine for employees approved to regularly access campus this fall, on the testing dates of Tuesday, October 13th and Wednesday, October 14th. Please note that the flu vaccine will be available throughout the testing days or until supplies are exhausted.

Employees who are registered for COVID-19 testing on these dates can choose to participate in the flu clinic upon arrival at the A&E Center. If participating, the flu vaccine will be administered after the COVID-19 test, in another area of the A&E Center. Employees who would like to participate are encouraged to follow two important steps:

Employees who are working completely remotely this fall will not be able to access the A&E Center for the flu vaccine. They are encouraged to obtain a flu vaccine in one of the following ways:

We are strongly encouraging that all employees receive a flu shot this year. Please keep in mind that even healthy people can get the flu, and it can be serious. The flu shot is even more important this year as we will also be fighting against COVID-19 in our community. While getting a flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, there are many important benefits, such as:

  1. Flu vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization, and death.
  2. Getting a flu vaccine can also save healthcare resources for the care of patients with COVID-19.

Thank you for doing your part to contribute to the health and well-being of our community. Please direct any questions to humanresources@ithaca.edu
