The Ithacan has been named a national Newspaper Pacemaker finalist for 2020 by the Associated Collegiate Press. “The Pacemaker is the association’s preeminent award," executive director Laura Widmer said. “ACP is honored to recognize the best of the best.” The ACP is the oldest and largest national membership organization for college journalists in the country.
The recognition is for newspapers published during the 2019-20 academic year (Sophia Adamucci ’20, editor-in-chief). The winners will be announced during the Fall (Virtual) National College Media Convention on October 22.
In 2017, The Ithacan was inducted into the Pacemaker Hall of Fame, which recognizes publications that have received at least 15 national Pacemaker and Pacemaker Finalist awards.
