The Social Action Leadership series will help you meet a community of IC students who want to learn how to actively and safely promote social change during the Covid era. Register for the series by Friday, October 23 and you will receive a package in the mail with supplies to make a different resistance-inspired craft project during each of the engaging and topical sessions that takes place on Thursdays in November. This could be EXACTLY what you need post-election!
The Social Action Leadership Series (SALS) is made up of three events where students can focus on the leadership skills required to be an effective community activist. During the SALS, students will learn about a social justice topic and share their own perspectives, while working on a creative project that can be used to promote awareness of an important social issue in a safe way during COVID times. Our hope is to develop a community connection between student participants who attend all events in the series - connections that are much needed right now!
The SALS events will take place via Zoom on Thursday afternoons from 4:00-5:30pm on the following dates:
All materials are provided for attendees and will be mailed to participants before the first session. There is no cost to participate. Check out the Social Action Leadership Series website for more information and to register. We hope that you join us, because we think you will love it!
