IC Percussion Ensemble will present a live, in-real-time concert Friday, Dec. 4 at 7pm, featuring collaborations with IC Composition and Art Students.

The live broadcast will be on Friday, Dec. 4 at  7pm EST at the following link: https://youtu.be/oyTtPG4hNTk

Last spring, the percussion ensemble created amazing videos for our final concert.  This fall, we will be presenting a live concert, coming to YouTube from our living rooms across the country.  This concert will feature older works by Pauline Oliveiros and John Cage, with the remainder of the program being world-premieres by Ithaca College students.

This semester we collaborated with the IC Composition students to create works that will be performed live over Zoom, with perfect vertical alignment not being necessary.   The works by Becky Turro, Nicholas Villane and Quinlan Armstrong Barrie are wonderful explorations of form, sound and texture.

Additionally, we have collaborated with the students from Paulina Velázquez-Solís' drawing class to create two brand-new pieces, both will be given their world-premieres during the concert.  The percussionists have looked at the carefully-curated color, line, structure and have had coachings with the artists during our month-long process.

We are thrilled to be presenting these collaborations on Friday, Dec. 4!  We hope to see you there.
