Two students in the Ithaca College MGMT 29700 class have been selected to be guest writers for Pop Culture Squad’s With Further Ado column.

As a part of MGTM 29700, called Countdown to Comic Con, Ithaca College students were assigned the task of competing to write a guest column.  Instructor Ed Catto, who writes the long-running weekly column, With Further Ado, uses this platform to explore the convergence of entrepreneurism and pop culture. The two most insightful and innovative student entries were chosen for publication on the Pop Culture Squad site.

“I’m been so impressed by how passionate and articulate the students have been when it comes to entrepreneurism, start-ups and pop culture,” said Catto.

The two winning student are:

·      Anthony Hernandez – His first place winning column is entitled An Outside Interpretation of the Fans of Geek Culture and debuted December 9th and can be found here.

·      Tyler Jennes – As runner up, Jennes’ work, entitled Leading Man and Superman, exploring his other passion of the theater, debuts today.

As a part of the Business School’s entrepreneurial program established by Brad Treat, this course, taught by Ed Catto, focuses on entrepreneurs and the strategy behind conventions and trade shows. Given the strong reception to the contest, Catto is planning on making it annual event.
