Rave Mobile Safety has received limited reports that the Rave Guardian app is failing to open on iOS 14.3, the latest version of the iPhone operating system. Rave has developed a new version of the app to address this issue, though it will likely take several days for it to be available in Apple’s App Store.
Rave recommends that all Guardian users with iOS 14.3 uninstall the app, reboot their device, and reinstall the current version of the app, which should resolve the issue while the new version of the app is working its way through the Apple approval process.
Once the new version of Rave Guardian becomes available to download, users will either be updated automatically or the user will be prompted to update, based on their device settings.
This issue does not affect Rave Guardian users with Android devices.
Rave Guardian is a component of the IC Alert Emergency Notification System, through which the college distributes critical messages to the campus community. Although they will still receive these messages without the free app, all students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to download it on their smartphone device, as it provides quick access to a suite of personal safety tools and resources available on and off campus.
