We are writing to announce that the Physics Club, Engineering Club, and Astronomy Club are collaborating to host the first ever Arduino Wars! Woooo! Exciting! Fun! Here's the gist of the event: you will be given four weeks to build a device using an Arduino. This device can be anything you want, your only limit is your imagination (and budget)! Three faculty members, Colleen Countryman, Eric Leibensperger, and Jerome Fung, will pick the most impressive device, and the winner will receive a 3D printed trophy to be displayed in the department hallway.
Do not worry if you are new to Arduinos! The contest will be divided into two divisions: novice and experienced. Provided you have less than one year of experience with Arduinos, you are welcome to enter the novice category. While each of you will submit your device individually, you will be placed onto a team of fellow competitors who you can come to and ask for advice at any time! Each team will have three mentors from the leaders of the hosting clubs, who you will check in with periodically throughout the four weeks.
