Vacation Time
On June 1, 2020, Ithaca College moved to an accrual-based vacation time model. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the maximum vacation balance for FY 20/21 was increased by the equivalent of 10 days’ worth of accrued time (pro-rated based on percentage of full time). This change is only in effect for FY 20/21. Beginning July 1, 2021, the maximum amount of vacation time you are allowed to accrue will revert back to 1.5 times your annual amount.
This year, it will be particularly important for you to check your vacation balance to ensure you are under your normal maximum balance prior to July 1, 2021. Vacation time maximum balances can be found online within the Policy Manual under 3.9.12 Vacation Paid Time Away Benefits.
Personal Time
On May 1, 2020, personal time was front-loaded, and the 3-day maximum balance was waived for FY 20/21. Beginning July 1, 2021, the maximum annual amount of personal time will revert back to 3 days (pro-rated based on percentage of full time). Personal time for FY 21/22 will be fronted on July 1, 2021.
Medical Time
As previously mentioned, Ithaca College had made plans to move medical time to an accrual-based model. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on May 1, 2020, medical time was front loaded for FY 20/21. With the implementation of COVID time now available for affected individuals, Ithaca College will continue as planned with moving medical time to an accrual-based model effective July 1, 2021.
