Thanks to a generous grant IC is offering a brand new online 3-credit summer course called “Bridging the Gap.” The central question of the course is, "How do we engage in difficult dialogue and truly listen to each other?" Students will learn how to have courageous conversations that build bridges and resist isolation, even across divides. This course was first piloted at Oberlin College and is now being offered across the country. Read more here or watch this video documenting the course at Oberlin.
Bridging the Gap runs from May 17 to June 3. Course materials and a $250 stipend will be provided to every student who registers. Space is limited. You can find more information on HommerConnect under CRN: 10199 | Course Number: 25000-01 in the Summer 2021 section of the registration page.
This unique, experimental course is also open to students from Houghton College in New York. As part of the course students from Ithaca College and Houghton College will learn about themselves and each other, explore race and religion in the U.S. and do an in-depth policy reform focus on immigration.
