As part of their ongoing effort to expand communication and collaboration with the IC community, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees will be holding an Open Conversation session during their annual Spring Board Meeting. Led by Board of Trustees Chair David Lissy ’87 and Vice Chair James W. Nolan Jr. ’77, Parent ’01, the conversation will be held on Thursday, May 20, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in a location on campus that will provide for appropriate physical distancing.
Due to COVID-19 precautionary measures, this session will be capped at 60 total attendees—20 each from among faculty, staff, and students—and advance registration is required. Twenty individuals from each constituency will be randomly selected from among those who have registered to attend. (Due to COVID-19, if requests to attend exceed room capacity limits, a representative from each governance executive board (Faculty Council, Staff Council, and SGC) will randomly select names from those received.)
A recording of the session will be made available afterward for members of the campus community who are unable to attend in person.
Board Chair Lissy and Vice Chair Nolan will share highlights and reflect on the discussions that have been taking place during the year and at the current Board meeting. They will also use this time to answer questions from members of the campus community in attendance.
Serving as co-facilitators for the session will be Chris McNamara ’81, clinical associate professor of physical therapy and chair of Faculty Council, and Déontae Guy ’23, president of the Student Governance Council.
Additional health and safety protocols will be in effect. Students must be able to present a “green” IC Health Badge to attend. All participants must have either a COVID vaccination record on file with Hammond Health Center (students) or Human Resources (faculty and staff), OR be in current compliance with surveillance testing. Participants must also complete their Daily Health Screening prior to coming to campus to attend.
At the event itself, attendees must wear an acceptable face covering compliant with CDC recommendations and maintain six feet of physical distance from other individuals at all times, regardless of vaccination status.
Please fill out and submit the request form located here by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, in order to register for the random draw. You will be notified by email by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, if you have been selected to attend.
Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations are requested to note this on the online form.
