Serbia's top newsweekly, Nedeljnik, featured Chip Gagnon's book The Myth of Ethnic War: Serbia and Croatia in the 1990s in its May 6 cover story "Trideset godine kasnije: Svi mitovi o raspadu Jugoslavije" (Thirty years later: All the myths of Yugoslavia's disintegration).
The article presents a number of common myths about the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s, and draws on Gagnon's book as well as on a recently declassified CIA report, a book by former US ambassador to Yugoslavia Warren Zimmerman (Origins of A Catastrophe: Yugoslavia and Its Destroyers), and a book by political scientist Dejan Jović (Rat i mit: Politika identiteta u suvremenoj Hrvatskoj [War and Myth: The politics of identity in contemporary Croatia]) to dispel these myths. An excerpt from the article is available at Nedeljnik's website: https://www.nedeljnik.rs/zasto-je-1990-samo-11-odsto-hrvata-bilo-za-nezavisnost-svi-mitovi-o-raspadu-jugoslavije-u-novom-nedeljniku/ (note: In Serbian Gagnon is spelled Genjon, and Ithaca as Itaka).
