Lester Holt, anchor of NBC’s weekend edition Nightly News and cohost of the weekend edition of Today, spoke to students as this year’s guest in the Jessica Savitch Distinguished Journalism Lecture Series. Holt discussed his career path and shared his thoughts about how mainstream media are feeling the pressure from the many new ways of delivering news. “Whether on a plasma television or iPhone,” he said in his public talk, “I believe there will always be a market for good old-fashioned news.”
