It is with the greatest of regret that I must inform the Ithaca College community of the death of one of our students. Senior Danielle Goren was killed in an automobile accident on Friday, October 20, while traveling to Washington, DC.

A speech-language pathology major, Danielle was involved in a wide range of campus activities. She served as a resident assistant in the College Circle Apartments, as an orientation leader, and as a member of the senior class cabinet. She was active in Hillel and was the president of the college’s chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association.

Services for Danielle will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, at Temple Beth El, 1305 Springhouse Rd., Allentown, Pennsylvania. Friends are also invited to gather at Muller Chapel on campus at 9 p.m. on Sunday to reflect on Danielle’s life and to offer one another support and comfort at this difficult time. The chaplains and members of the Counseling Center staff will also be available. An on-campus memorial service is also being planned for a future date.

I know that the entire college community joins with me in extending our deepest sympathies, along with our thoughts and prayers, to Danielle’s family, friends, and classmates for their tragic loss.

Brian McAree
Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Life
