Children and teens from Camp Heartland will speak about issues impacting families touched by HIV/AIDS on Tuesday, October 9, at 5:30 p.m. in IC Square, as part of Disability Awareness Month.
For over a decade Camp Heartland has been a leader of camping programs for children impacted by HIV and AIDS. Many of the campers when outside Heartland were living in secrecy and fear. However, some courageous children were inspired by their experiences at camp to speak out about issues impacting families touched by HIV/AIDS. Journey of Hope brings some campers and their personal stories to Ithaca College.
