Camp Heartland: Journey of Hope

Contributed by Barbara Anger on 10/04/07

Children and teens from Camp Heartland will speak about issues impacting families touched by HIV/AIDS on Tuesday, October 9, at 5:30 p.m. in IC Square, as part of Disability Awareness Month.

For over a decade Camp Heartland has been a leader of camping programs for children impacted by HIV and AIDS. Many of the campers when outside Heartland were living in secrecy and fear. However, some courageous children were inspired by their experiences at camp to speak out about issues impacting families touched by HIV/AIDS. Journey of Hope brings some campers and their personal stories to Ithaca College.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance at 274-3909 or eoc@ithaca.edu.

Any question contact Barbara Anger in the Theatre Department at banger@ithaca.edu or 274-1236.
