01/29/09

Contributed by Marian Brown

On Thursday, February 5, in the Emerson Suites of Campus Center, Ithaca College will host a daylong "Teach-In" on the political, social, environmental, and economic impacts of climate change.

Join us to learn from faculty experts and community and government leaders about the issues of global climate change. Learn about efforts underway to respond to climate change on campus, in the local community, and on a national and international basis.

Faculty are asked to consider encouraging student attendance at and participation in "Teach-In" sessions, through class attendance or by offering extra credit to student participants.

The National Teach-In on Global Warming intends to engage over a million Americans in solutions-driven dialogue, stating that "as educators, students, and citizens, we owe our nation a focused conversation about the critical decisions that will determine if our descendants will inherit a prosperous or an impoverished planet."
