Arhlene Flowers and Kati Lustyik Present Papers at International Conferences

Arhlene A. Flowers, assistant professor in the Department of Strategic Communication, will present a paper on June 25 at the International Communication Association's annual conference in Singapore. The paper, on virtual junk food playgrounds, is included in a session on Virtual Worlds for Children: Salient Issues, Diverse Methods, International Perspectives. The research paper was in collaboration with Katalin Lustyik, assistant professor in the Department of Television-Radio.

The International Communication Association (ICA) is an academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication. 

Flowers and Lustyik will also present a paper, "The Expansion of Junk Food Marketing, Cyberspace, and Children's Waistlines: Government Public Relations Combating Childhood Obesity in Hungary and the U.K.," on July 2 at the 17th Annual BledCom: International Public Relations Research Symposium in Lake Bled, Slovenia.

The BledCom symposium is a gathering of scholars and practitioners from all over the world who come together to explore and discuss various themes and research in the field of public relations and related disciplines.
