ITHACA, N.Y. -- For the 10th time in the 10 years that the award has been given, Ithaca College won the Empire 8 Commisioner's Cup. The Commisioner's Cup is given to the conference's most successful athletic department, based on standings and championship tournament results in Empire 8 sports.

Ithaca scored 137 out of a possible 155 points, or 88.4 percent. That score marked the second-highest percentage ever recorded by an Empire 8 school; the Bombers won the 2003-04 Commisioner's Cup by scoring 93.4 percent of their possible points. Ithaca's winning score was 15.5 points ahead of the league's second-place school; the Bombers have finished first by at least 15 points three years in a row and five times in the past eight years.

Ithaca sponsors 22 Empire 8 sports; 12 of those sports won Empire 8 regular-season or postseason tournament titles (women's basketball, women's cross country, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball, women's swimming & diving men's tennis, women's tennis, men's indoor track & field, women's indoor track & field, men's outdoor track & field and women's outdoor track & field) with six more (baseball, men's cross country, women's golf, men's lacrosse, men's swimming & diving and volleyball) recording runner-up finishes.
