In observance of both Constitution Day 2010 and Latino Heritage Month, Ithaca College will present “Crossing the Border: Where Does the Constitution Stand?” on Monday, September 27th at 7:00PM in Textor Hall Room 102. Filmmaker Luis Argueta will present an excerpt from his newest documentary, “abUSed: The Postville Raid”, which presents the human face of immigration reform and serves as a cautionary tale against abuses of constitutional human rights. Following the film, a panel will discuss the global and local contexts for the U.S. movement for immigrant rights. Panelists will include Luis Argueta; Shaianne Osterreich, associate professor of Economics at Ithaca College; and Mary Jo Dudley, Director of the Cornell Farmworker Program. A reception with the speakers will follow the event. This event is free and open to the public.
