Constitution Day 2010 Event: “Crossing the Border” on September 27thContributed by Marian Brown on 09/21/10

This special event is co-sponsored by: The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; the Departments of Politics, Economics, and Modern Languages and Literatures; the Latin American Studies and Legal Studies Programs; the Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies; the Center for the Study of Culture, Race and Ethnicity; the Park Center for Independent Media; the Diversity Awareness Committee; the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs; and The Latino Civic Association. Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. Latino Heritage Month programs and events help participants gain a better understanding, respect and appreciation of how people of Latin descent and Latin culture affect and contribute to the American culture, and show pride and respect in their own culture.
