Buzzsaw Magazine's Militarization Week - Join Us for 4 Great Events

 50 years after Eisenhower coined the term “military-industrial complex,” Buzzsaw magazine, Ithaca College’s alternative magazine, dives into the topic with a special issue and a week of events to explore the many facets of militarization. "The Militarization Issue" will be distributed on Thursday, March 2, and a week of exciting events will follow, beginning on March 7. With this dynamic event series, we aim to bring the discussion about war, the military and its presence in our daily lives beyond the pages of the magazine.

 The Militarization Week of events includes:

> Monday, March 7
Restrepo, Oscar-nominated documentary about a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan
Film Screening with IC Human Rights
7 p.m. Williams 225

> Tuesday, March 8
"Military Propaganda and Other PR Ploys" with John Stauber and Lisa Graves of the Center for Media and Democracy (See previous Intercom post)
Presentation with Park Center for Independent Media
7 p.m. Emerson Suites

> Wednesday, March 9
War and Peace?: The Lasting Effects of Militarization
Panel Discussion with Progressive Discourse Project
7 p.m. Williams 225

> Thursday, March 10
The Art of War
Gallery Night with art, protest music and food
7 p.m. Klingenstein
