Deborah Rifkin (Asst. Professor Music Theory) was invited to give two graduate workshops at the University of South Carolina.

The first workshop, a seminar on 20th-century tonality, presented ideas and techniques of motivic analysis relevant for neo-tonal styles. The second workshop was a composition class, in which participants learned how to write in the chromatic style of Sergei Prokofiev. Both took place on Friday, April 1st on the USC campus in Columbia, SC.
