Deborah Rifkin (Asst. Professor Music Theory) was invited to give two graduate workshops at the University of South Carolina.Contributed by Deborah Rifkin on 04/04/11 The first workshop, a seminar on 20th-century tonality, presented ideas and techniques of motivic analysis relevant for neo-tonal styles. The second workshop was a composition class, in which participants learned how to write in the chromatic style of Sergei Prokofiev.
