Stop Wasting Ithaca's Food Today (SWIFT) will be tabling in the Campus Center lobby this week to collect non-perishable food, toiletries, pet food, gently used clothing, and monetary support for the victims of last week's flood.

The organization, SWIFT (Stop Wasting Ithaca's Food Today) that packages and delivers food to local churches and shelters every week is going to be collecting non-perishable foods (and other items) that we will be bringing to the Southern Tier Food Bank in Elmira, NY, sometime in the middle of next week. The food bank is one main group coordinating the distribution of food and needed items to those affected by the most recent flooding in many areas around the state. Here is their website for more info: http://www.foodbankst.org/

We are hoping that folks can bring items to campus on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. There will be a collection station in the Campus Center lobby, and members of our group are also willing to come to you to collect whatever items you bring.

**Needed food items include (but are not limited to): bottled water, easy to prepare food such as peanut butter, tuna, canned soup, vegetables, ravioli, pasta & beef meals.

We also will be collecting any monetary donations as well as pet food, gently used clothing, personal toiletry items (deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, etc.), cleaning products, bleach, toiletries, paper towels, etc. These items will be distributed to those in need throughout Binghamton and the Southern Tier by local volunteers in that area.

Our hearts go out to our family and friends affected by the flooding, so thank you in advance for doing your part in helping them through this tough situation! Please feel free to contact us if you'd like us to come pick up your donations anywhere on campus.
