Sustainability Café on November 7th explores our right to a healthy environment

The Sustainability Café on Monday, November 7th will feature Emma Cheuse from Earthjustice, speaking on “The Right to a Healthy Environment”. The Café will be held in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112 at 4:00PM. The Fall 2011 Sustainability Café series is held in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar.

Emma Cheuse, associate attorney, joined the Washington DC office of Earthjustice in 2008 after serving as the Alan Morrison Supreme Court Assistance Project Fellow at Public Citizen Litigation Group. At Earthjustice, Emma engages in environmental litigation and advocacy on a wide range of issues, including clean air, global warming, and mountaintop removal mining. Emma earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2006, and received her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard-Radcliffe College in 1998. She developed her understanding of the importance of environmental protection and community-based advocacy while growing up in the Hudson River Valley, the Adirondacks and the Catskills, and then working for political candidates and campaign organizations in Minnesota, Virginia, Illinois and Massachusetts.
