The Sustainability Café on Monday, November 5th will feature Leslie Schill from the Tompkins County Planning Department explaining the “Cleaner, Greener Southern Tier Plan.” The Sustainability Café will be held in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112 at 4:00PM in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar.
Leslie Schill is Senior Planner at the Tompkins County Planning Department working on local and regional sustainability issues, including development of a downtown Sustainability Center and County government sustainability. Some of her work has included co-authoring an Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Element to the Tompkins County Comprehensive Plan, drafting the new County Conservation Strategy, and working collaboratively on the Finger Lakes Trail & Emerald Necklace Protection Plan and Route 96 Corridor Management Study with municipal and community partners.Leslie is leading the team developing the Cleaner, Greener Southern Tier Plan, which will provide a comprehensive regional strategy for the eight-county Southern Tier in eight months’ time, focusing on reducing energy consumption and GHG emissions to achieve long-term sustainability across multiple topic areas.
