Sustainability Café on November 5 will explore the Cleaner, Greener Southern Tier PlanContributed by Marian Brown on 10/30/12
Leslie Schill is Senior Planner at the Tompkins County Planning Department working on local and regional sustainability issues, including development of a downtown Sustainability Center and County government sustainability. Some of her work has included co-authoring an Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Element to the Tompkins County Comprehensive Plan, drafting the new County Conservation Strategy, and working collaboratively on the Finger Lakes Trail & Emerald Necklace Protection Plan and Route 96 Corridor Management Study with municipal and community partners.Leslie is leading the team developing the Cleaner, Greener Southern Tier Plan, which will provide a comprehensive regional strategy for the eight-county Southern Tier in eight months’ time, focusing on reducing energy consumption and GHG emissions to achieve long-term sustainability across multiple topic areas. This event is free and open to the public. “Teachable edibles” – local, organic and/or seasonal snacks – for the Fall 2012 Sustainability Café series are being sponsored by Ithaca College Dining Services whose motto is “Sustainability – Healthy – Fresh.” Please bring your reusable mug and fill up at the nearest drinking fountain or provide your own beverage of choice.
