The Sustainability Café on Monday, September 10th will feature Patrick DiCiaccio ’08, who interned with the U.S. Department of Energy, discussing “Environmental Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy”. The Sustainability Café will be held in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112 at 4:00PM in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar.
Patrick DiCiaccio ’08 received his B.A. in Biology, where he became especially enthralled by climate change studies. He travelled to the UN Climate Change Conference in Poland as a student delegate. Patrick graduated from the Bard Center for Environmental Policy with an M.S. in Climate Science & Policy. Through that degree program, in 2011, Patrick interned at the U.S. Department of Energy under the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency, and was hired on to implement The Better Buildings Case Competition, a new Administration initiative which Patrick developed. In 2012, he interned as an EPA Program Examiner in the White House Office of Management & Budget within the Executive Office of the President.
This event is free and open to the public.
“Teachable edibles” – local, organic and/or seasonal snacks – for the Fall 2012 Sustainability Café series are being sponsored by Ithaca College Dining Services whose motto is “Sustainability – Healthy – Fresh.” Please bring your reusable mug and fill up at the nearest drinking fountain or provide your own beverage of choice.
