Following a cartographic impulse, Carla Stetson’s satellite and aerial views of the earth explore the vastness of landscape, featuring wind currents, water gyres, and polar communities. These meditative drawings reflect on environmental issues, seeking to reinvigorate a sense of connection to global natural forces.
Your Margins, Your Rivers, Your Diminutive Villages

Site-specific drawings and sculptures using surrealist automatism as a guiding principle, Loper’s work engages with local landscape as a departure point for construction of unexpected forms, exploring the intersecting terrains of landscape, utopian architecture, and bodily organism.

All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.; Thursday, 10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.; and weekends, noon to 5.00 p.m.. The gallery is closed to the public on Tuesdays unless otherwise specified for an event but can accommodate group or class visits by appointment.
