RLST 37508-01 (3 credits)
Spring 2015 -- 5:25-6:40 MW

From the beheadings of journalists by ISIL to religious advocacy for immigration law reform to religious exemptions from federally-mandated health insurance coverage for contraception, religion is ubiquitous in our public discourse. In this course, we will develop the knowledge and skills we need to understand critically and participate responsibly in these matters of national and global citizenship. Our focus will be on coverage of religion in the news (nationally and internationally) as well as U.S. Supreme Court decisions on religious matters.
