¨ Office of pubic safety will publish the amendment
¨ How do we get students and faculty to see this?

¨ Need to understand the definition of these issues
¨ Challenged as an institution to train, so students can recognize this violence as it happens

¨ Any behavior that is unwanted by you that makes you feel uncomfortable is likely illegal

· Want to make a splash on campus about sexual assault.

v Two Goals:
1. Implement a diversity plan for better relations with students and public safety.
2. Develop a communication plan.

v Resolution that has been passed.
v What does it mean to pass a resolution?
v SGA will pick this up, say what it means to pass a resolution, go through it to figure out what it means for us in September 2015.
v New Bill Process:
ü Submit your intent for a bill on a Tuesday.
ü Time to do research, to get a more fleshed out bill.
ü Run by people.
ü Bring it in the following Monday to present at a SGA meeting.
ü The bill will be looked at to see if there is enough research.
ü If it gets passed, it will with an action plan tied to it
v What was the thought process behind this bill?
v Whatever we do has a budgetary impact.

v They are going to rework the bill.
v People doing research need to be in contact with Terri.
· Bill process requires a next step, once passed in SGA, then it will be brought to campus committee on college life and campus safety.
· Message: There was and is a plan that has been put in place that has been ongoing for 18 months, recognize the need for this plan.
· As a whole the student body has questions about rights and responsibilities.
· Terri is passionate about public safety.
V. New Business
A. Voting in appropriations committee members
· Lexa Panell
v Junior, accounting and management major, was in appropriations last year, loved being in the committee, seeing all of the organizations on campus and helping them.
· James Chen
v Sophomore accounting major, was on last year, joined towards the later half would like to do it again.
· Oliver Shag
v Senior, International business and marketing major, minor in Spanish, has not been it, wants to give back to the school.
· Giovanna Finamo
v Freshmen, in business administration, would like more business experience on campus would like to learn more about what is happening around the school.
· Siandre Carolina
v Business administration concentration in finance, would help with business.
· Jonathan Couce
v Sophomore politics and communication studies major, great way to give back to the IC community.
· Tyler Alden
v Freshmen business administration major, good way to get involved.
· Joseph Fenning
v Sophomore accounting major, was on last year, would love to get back into it, giving ideas.
Discussion:
· Anyone who is willing to commit, nice to have people with business backgrounds.
· Attendance requirements, need people who are dedicated
· Are ready to committee.

v Interested in politics and government.
v Always been around it, enjoy it.
v Ithaca is different than his area.
v He wants to get rid of all acronyms.
v Excited to be here.
v Running for HSHP Senator.
v Freshman.
v Studying Health Sciences with a focus in dentistry.
v Always been interested in Government.
v Previous experience: 8th grade was student body president.
v What would you change? Racial bias, issue with campus security and students, every week, a given police officer has to meet 5 students, to bring down the title aspect between police and student relations bring it to a more human level.
v How do you plan on representing your school? Trying to represent the amount of work he can put into it.

v Platforms: Voice, making everyone’s voices heard.
v Difference from high school to college, SGA is listened to more in college.
v She wants her voice heard.
v Great place to learn what is going on and listen and be a part of something.

v A bill that you would think about working on? Working off of what she learned from the ALS meeting.
v Something for freshman to talk to elders to help them adjust to the new surroundings.

v Divide between varsity and club sports level.
v Have the opportunity to represent a large amount of diverse people around campus.

v Going to other schools to get more information on how we can look at how other schools are handling things.

v Attendance is very important.
v Email if you are not able to come at least 24 hours in advance.
v Meetings every Monday at 7:30pm.
v 3 absences become a problem.
v 2 unexcused lates = 1 absent
v Don’t fall asleep during meetings.
