On October 15 the U.S. commemorates National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD), a national community mobilization and social marketing campaign to raise HIV awareness and promote HIV testing, prevention and education. This year's theme is "To Defeat HIV: You're a Superhero. Use your Superpowers."The theme is a message that everyone has a role to play in defeating HIV, and that it's going to take a team of community members - a team of superheroes - to defeat HIV. Each one of us has a "superpower" such as: taking an HIV test, practicing safer sex, using PrEP, receiving treatment, and becoming undetectable.
