On October 15 the U.S. commemorates National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD), a national community mobilization and social marketing campaign to raise HIV awareness and promote HIV testing, prevention and education. This year's theme is "To Defeat HIV: You're a Superhero. Use your Superpowers."

The theme is a message that everyone has a role to play in defeating HIV, and that it's going to take a team of community members - a team of superheroes - to defeat HIV. Each one of us has a "superpower" such as: taking an HIV test, practicing safer sex, using PrEP, receiving treatment, and becoming undetectable.

For resources and information, visit the National Latino AIDS Awareness Day website. HIV/AIDS resources are also available for the campus community. Additional information, supplies, resources and referral can also be obtained through several campus offices, including the Resource Rooms of the Center for Health Promotion and the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach & Services.
