Tuesday, March 20, 12:10-1pm in Ithaca Falls Room

As the American painter Joan Semmel said, "If there are no great, celebrated women artists, that’s because the powers that be have not been celebrating them, but not because they are not there.” Throughout history, women have used various art forms to express themselves and create revolutions in music, sculpture, theatre, painting, dance, and more. Feminism and social justice are consistent threads through female artists creating space for themselves in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Through a variety of multimedia, learn about some of the women who have been creating change through creativity, past and present. We'll learn about how to choose a campaign platform, connect with your constituent base, and market yourself before a student election. Most importantly, you'll receive a copy/paste formula that you can quickly edit to get your campaign running. Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge -  You should run for office!
