You also may have heard that women are far less likely to negotiate than men, which contributes to the gender pay gap. Come to this session to learn how to navigate this sensitive process including how and when to bring it up, how to prepare, and what subjects you can negotiate… And why it’s particularly important for women to learn successful negotiation strategies. Feminism and social justice are consistent threads through female artists creating space for themselves in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Through a variety of multimedia, learn about some of the women who have been creating change through creativity, past and present. In this workshop, we'll view parts of the recent web series, She's the Ticket; We’ll follow a 23-year-old woman's November campaign for a hotly contested town council position and fight for sanctuary city status. We'll learn about how to choose a campaign platform, connect with your constituent base, and market yourself before a student election. Most importantly, you'll receive a copy/paste formula that you can quickly edit to get your campaign running. Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge - You should run for office!
