All Windows-based PC’s running an outdated version of the Windows operating system (Windows 7, Windows 8) will be upgraded to Windows 10 over Spring Break (March 12-March 16).
Please click here to view the schedule of when your department will be upgraded to Windows 10. All upgrades will be completed using our remote management system and will occur after hours starting at 7:00pm each night during Spring Break, upgrades should be complete when you arrive at work the next day. Offices identified to be upgraded on Monday March 12 will be upgraded at 12:00am (midnight). Please remember that Monday March 12 is the Spring Holiday and campus will be closed. You will need to prepare your PC on Friday March 9 before you leave for the weekend by taking the three steps below. A card will be placed on your keyboard to remind you.
All individuals who are impacted by the Windows 10 upgrade will receive an email notifying them of the date the upgrade will occur, a list of any impacted PC’s in their possession, instructions to prepare for the upgrade and support information.
IT will be placing cards on keyboards two days prior to the upgrade to remind you of the date the upgrade will take place as well as a reminder to save your files, close your programs, reboot your computer and leave it powered on.
On the night that your PC is scheduled be upgraded, IT will visit your office to confirm that your PC is staged and ready to receive the upgrade. If your PC is turned off, it will be turned on. If the PC is powered on, it will be rebooted. A card will be left on your keyboard after we have visited your PC to notify you that IT has visited the PC and it has been upgraded to Windows 10.

If you feel your PC should not be upgraded
If you have a PC in your possession that you feel should not be upgraded for a legitimate business reason, please contact the Service Desk and provide the asset tag of the PC(s) that you are requesting an exception and the reason you are requesting an exception. Exceptions should be based on legitimate business needs, not personal convenience or a dislike associated with Windows 10.
