PSYC 235 | ICC Sustainable Futures | Social Science Perspective
**Override requests for PSYC 103 prereq. will be accepted.
- Explore how to change values, attitudes and behaviors at the individual-level and within larger groups and cultures.
- Become mindful, systems thinkers about environmental and social problems and their solutions.
- Communicate effectively about environmental issues and sustainable behavior.
- Connect with the natural world in your community, benefitting your psychological and physical well-being.
- Contemplate the myriad ways sustainability is a social-justice concern.
Class will consist of:
- Asynchronous lectures, to fit your summer schedule
- Once-weekly zoom discussions, optional but highly recommended (Time TBD)
- Office hour meetings with instructor via ZOOM
- Shared student-annotated readings
- Weekly Blogs
- Open-book quizzes
- Films
- A final proposal to make your local community more sustainable
