Take Introduction to Creative Writing for ICC credit this spring!

WRTG 17500: Introduction to Creative Writing now satisfies the Creative Arts or Humanities perspectives within the Identities or Inquiry, Imagination, and Innovation themes.

This spring, study the art and craft of poetry and fiction in a supportive, challenging community of writers with a wide range of majors and interests. Seats are available in a number of sections. The catalog description is as follows:

Elements and techniques of writing fiction and poetry introduced through instruction, analysis of models, experimentation, and practice. Fiction-writing techniques include developing character and plot, using dialogue, creating scenes, learning narrative structure, and acquiring narrative voice. Poetry-writing techniques include traditional poetic forms, poetic imagery, and descriptive and figurative language. Prerequisite: Any level-1 composition course.
