The Ithacan has been named a national finalist for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s 2021 Crown Awards. The Gold and Silver Crowns, the CSPA’s highest honors, are awarded for overall excellence.
The CSPA finalist announcement follows on the heels of The Ithacan’s Newspaper Pacemaker Award from the Associated Collegiate Press at end of October — marking top honors from the two most prestigious collegiate journalism organizations in the country.
The paper was judged based on both its print and online editions produced during the 2019-20 academic year (Sophia Adamucci ’20, editor-in-chief). The winners will be announced at the (Virtual) Spring National College Media Convention in March 2021.
Founded in 1925, the CSPA is owned by Columbia University and operated as a program affiliated with the graduate school of journalism.
