After earning his B.A. in sociology from Ithaca College and J.D. from SUNY Buffalo Law School, Michael Battle worked as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society, a federal defender, an assistant attorney general, and a family court judge. In 2002 he was appointed United States Attorney for the Western District of New York and in 2005 he was named director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys. Currently a senior partner with the New York law firm of Schlam Stone & Dolan LLP, he was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2010.
