Provost Search | A Message from the Co-Chairs

Submitted on behalf of Jean Hardwick and Jack Powers

Dear Members of the Ithaca College Community,

We write today with an update on the provost search.

We recently welcomed to campus three finalists for an in-depth set of conversations for two days each, involving 62 member of the campus community. These included 38 individuals drawn from students, faculty and staff, in addition to Administrators and members of the Board of Trustees. Input was then passed on to the search committee, which met to discuss the finalist interviews in detail and provide its analysis to President Collado.

As co-chairs, we were particularly impressed with the talent and strength of all three finalists, and fascinated by the conversations that were had with and around them. We are confident that IC’s next Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs will be an outstanding professional who is deeply committed to the values and well-being of the College.

Now comes the waiting part for all of us, as President Collado engages in further due diligence on her top choice(s), and extends an offer. We look forward to learning the outcome of this process. In the meantime, we wish again to thank the members of the search committee for their outstanding work, and all those who participated in the interviews for their important contributions.

Sincerely,

Jean Hardwick
