Update on the provost search

Dear Member of the Ithaca College Community,

We write to provide you with an update on the search for Ithaca’s next provost and senior vice president for academic affairs.

The search process is proceeding on schedule, and we are pleased by the significant interest we have seen in this important role. The depth, strength and diversity of the candidates who are attracted to the position is a testament to the excellence of Ithaca College and its faculty, students, staff and leadership.

The search process remains confidential to ensure our ability to recruit many of the most qualified candidates for whom anonymity is critically important. However, as we indicated in our previous message, we are also committed to finding avenues for broader participation in the process by members of the IC community. We will be reaching out to faculty, student and staff groups and organizations soon to request assistance with identifying delegates that provide representation of different populations within the IC community. Our plan is to include these delegates in meetings with finalist candidates at the appropriate point in the search.

Lastly, we wish to thank each member of the Ithaca College community who has provided feedback, suggestions and/or nominations to assist us in our efforts. We continue to be grateful for your ongoing engagement and support.

Sincerely,

Jean Hardwick
