About Intercom

Welcome to Intercom, Ithaca College’s message center.

Intercom is where you will find news and stories from around the campus, including important announcements; information about events, concerts, lectures, plays, etc.; and reports of special achievements — in short, all the things that matter to us as a college community.

There are four ways to view Intercom stories:

  1. Visit Ithaca.edu/intercom— Anyone can read Intercom stories on the public Intercom website at any time. Unless the publish date has been changed, once stories are posted, they appear on the website instantly.
  2. Sign up for the email roundup — A digest of all new Intercom stories can be sent to you via email three times per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1 a.m.) by signing up here. Anyone with an Ithaca.edu email address is automatically signed up to receive these roundups.
  3. Subscribe to an RSS feed— Learn how to subscribe to an Intercom RSS feed here.
  4. Follow @ithacaintercom on Twitter — This Twitter account automatically tweets each new Intercom story as it is published. Note: The account is not owned or managed by Ithaca College, so we cannot guarantee this will always be the most effective or comprehensive way of staying up to date with all Intercom posts.
There are two ways to contribute to Intercom:

Publish a Story — Ithaca College faculty, staff, and student leaders have the ability to publish stories and campus news to Intercom by logging in to Intercom with their Netpass. All stories will be posted immediately except for those submitted to the HR News or Technology section—a moderator will approve those stories before they are published. Any for-profit solicitations or stories with indecent language will be removed.

Comment— All Ithaca College community members can comment on a story. Simply use your IC Netpass to log in to Intercom, click on the link that says “Add a comment” at the bottom of any story, and take part in the exchange of information.

For detailed instructions about how to use Intercom visit the FAQ.

To contact the Intercom moderators, please send an e-mail to intercom@ithaca.edu.
