Bonny Griffith, director of client and enrollment marketing in the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications, has accepted a position as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Cortland Regional Medical Center, where she will be reporting directly to Mark Webster, president and CEO.

Bonny will begin her new position after the winter break. We are developing a plan to search for her successor and hope to fill the vacancy as soon as possible.

Although I’ve only had the privilege of working with Bonny for a few short weeks, I have been deeply impressed by her skills as a communications strategist; her loyalty to Ithaca College; her knowledge of the intricacies of IC’s marketing programs, especially enrollment marketing; and the incredible amount of support and advocacy she has provided for her team. She has made a huge impact on IC, and I know that she will be deeply missed, as a friend and a coworker.

Bonny joined Ithaca College as an admission writer/editor back in 2002. Since that time she has taken on progressive levels of responsibility and made significant contributions to the Ithaca College brand identity and recruitment marketing strategy.

Bonny most recently served as the interim AVP of Marketing Communications, leading the team through a period of rapid change and helping to establish the foundation for its new charge as the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications. During that time, she was also responsible for overseeing institutional brand management, recruitment strategy, advancement communications, athletic communications, digital advertising, creative services, crisis communications, media relations, social media, and the work of many collaborative teams inside and outside Marcom. Her proudest accomplishments over the years include the conception and launch of our award-winning IC Fuse magazine for prospective students, the creation of IC Peers, and serving as the lead content strategist for the college’s Ready campaign.

Bonny says, “As a fiercely loyal and proud alumna, it has been my honor and privilege to share the Ithaca College story with the world for the past 13 years. Throughout my time at Ithaca, I’ve had countless opportunities to collaborate with and be mentored by talented colleagues, to gain valuable new perspectives from our faculty and campus administrators, and to grow as both a leader and marketing professional. I will be forever grateful for all that I’ve learned at IC and the incredible relationships I’ve built along the way. I am excited to embark on this new chapter in my career with CRMC, but Ithaca College will always hold a very special place in my heart.”

Please join me and the communications and enrollment teams in congratulating Bonny on her achievements, thanking her for everything she’s done for IC, and wishing her all the best in her new role.
