Come check out Toastmasters’ Open House on October 9 at 2pm in Taughannock Falls room. Meet with members of Toastmasters and get to know us through our “Ice Breaker” speeches. Toastmasters is Internationally recognized and open to all members of the Ithaca College community (students, faculty and staff). Students interested in a semester internship experience in Washington, D.C. are invited to attend the IC in DC information session with the Cornell in Washington Program. The director of the Cornell in Washington Program will be available to answer questions. The information session is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in CHS 413.

Interested students and their academic advisors are encouraged to attend. Please contact Tanya Saunders in CHS 214 for additional information and consult the IC in DC site at www.ithaca.edu/oip/washington and the Cornell in Washington website at www.ciw.cornell.edu.

Students interested in applying to the ICNYC program for the Spring 2014 semester are required to submit an application to their School’s associate dean by Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 4 p.m.

Students will be notified if they have been accepted into the program by Friday, October 25, 2013.

“Find Your Inner Seoul,” a documentary screening and information session about the summer study abroad program in South Korea, will take place on Thursday, October 10 at 8:00 p.m. in the Park Hall Auditorium.

Five short documentaries produced by Park students through the Cross-Cultural Documentary Research & Production class in summer 2013 will be screened. The class was taught at Hanyang University International Summer School in 2013 with other media-related courses. A Q&A session with the student filmmakers will follow the screening.

There will also be a short presentation about the Summer 2014 study abroad program.

Angela Rudert, lecturer in religious studies, contributed a chapter titled "A Sufi, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, TV Guru: Anandmurti Gurumaa" to a recently published edited volume/anthology, Religious Pluralism, State and Society in Asia. The book is edited by Chiara Formichi and is part of the Routledge Religion in Contemporary Asia Series.

Malcolm Temple, a Culture and Communications major who also minors in Latin American Studies, and Grace Woodward, a Junior Sociology major, published articles in the CUSLAR Newsletter. Since 1965, the Committee on U.S. Latin American Relations has worked to foster more equitable relations between the U.S. and the rest of hemisphere and to promote a deeper understanding of those issues.
