The Handwerker Gallery is pleased to be screening Marwencol as the second event of the )OUTSIDERS( film series, introduced by Arturo Sinclair, faculty from the Department of Television and Radio. Sinclair’s interests include robotics & animatronics, augmented reality, and bridging the virtual with the real world. The film will be shown on Tuesday, October 9, at 5.00 p.m.. Zack Ford '07, editor of ThinkProgress LGBT for the Center for American Progress - and former Ithaca College student body president - will be the featured speaker on Thursday October 11, 7 pm in Emerson Suites A, Campus Center. Zack's talk, "Can You Come Out without Enlisting in the Culture War?" will approach the challenge of invisible identities in a culture where we're impacted by our identities, regardless of whether we proactively engage with them.

Carl Sgrecci, Vice President for the Division of Finance and Administration will receive the Ithaca College Toastmasters Club’s inaugural “Polished Apple” Award during the Club’s 10th Anniversary Celebration. The recipient of this award exemplifies the mission of Toastmasters International which is to help "men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking" and also demonstrates adherence to Toastmasters International's core values of "integrity, dedication to excellence, service to the member, and respect for the individual." The event will take place on Wednesday, November 7 at Emerson Suites from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Please join us for this special occasion and to enjoy Vice President Sgrecci’s keynote address.
